2nd Friday Celebration for the Arts to showcase oil paintings
Artist James Klosterman and music group Tom Garcia & Company are this month's features.
The Oxford Community Arts Center (OCAC) will host its next 2nd Friday Celebration for the Arts Oct. 10 from 6-8:30 p.m.
This month’s featured artist will be James Klosterman, a mixed media artist who has lived in Oxford since 1972. Visitors can discuss with Klosterman his exhibit, titled “a retrospective,” which features oil paintings of Miami University’s campus.
At 7:30 p.m., musical guest Tom Garcia & Company will perform for an hour to close out the event.
Garcia is an associate professor of Ethnomusicology and Musicology at Miami University.
According to Heidi Schiller, executive director at OCAC, Garcia “has performed throughout the U.S., including Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Concert Hall in New York and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”
Food and drinks will be available throughout the evening.
The free event is sponsored by Jack and Sally Southard and the Elms Hotel.
