The Oxford Police Department (OPD) responded to vandalism by people shooting BB guns, along with incidents of drug possession and theft between March 9 and 16.

On March 9, just before 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a burglary report at Parkview Arms Apartments, according to the OPD media report. Upon arrival, officers observed damage to the apartment door and spoke with the resident about medical marijuana items that were stolen, according to the incident report. This incident is still being investigated.

On March 9, just after 8 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the zero block of East Collins Street for a report of vandalism, according to the OPD media report. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female who said her house window and car windshield had been shot with a BB gun, according to the incident report.

The suspects eventually emailed OPD claiming fault for the incident and said they would cover the cost of repairs.

On March 9, just before 9 p.m., a small amount of suspected narcotics was found during a traffic stop, according to the OPD media report.

On March 10, just after midnight, a male known to have an outstanding warrant was found walking in Oxford, according to the OPD media report. He was arrested and a small bag of suspected narcotics was in his possession.

On March 10, just after 2:30 p.m., someone filed an online report of a stolen bike, according to the OPD media report. There are no suspects at this time.

On March 10, just after 6:30 p.m., a barber chair outside The Temple Barber Shop was stolen, according to the OPD media report. Suspects are currently unknown.

On March 10, just before 10 p.m., officers were dispatched to a suspicious male at the intersection of Arrowhead Drive and East Chestnut Street, according to the OPD media report. Upon arrival, he was performing a sexual act on himself in public, according to the incident report. He was arrested and taken to the Butler County Jail.

On March 12, just before 2:30 p.m., a male reported damage to his window in the 600 block of Glenview Drive, according to the OPD media report. Upon arrival, the male told police the damage was done by “6 steel BBs,” according to the incident report. There are no suspects at this time.

On March 13, just after 4:30 p.m., a tenant at Parkview Arms Apartments reported that a lockbox inside her residence was stolen, according to the OPD media report.

On March 14, just after 5 p.m., a male was observed walking up to OPD with an open container, according to the OPD media report. He was also found to be underage and in possession of a fictitious license and suspected narcotics, according to the incident report. He was cited and later released.

On March 15, just before 12:30 a.m., officers conducted a bar check at 25 E. High St., and a male was found to be underage and in possession of a fictitious ID, according to the OPD media report. He was cited and released.

On March 15, just after 12:30 a.m., officers conducted a bar check in the zero block of North Poplar Street, and a male was found to be underage and in possession of a fictitious ID, according to the OPD media report. He was cited and released.

On March 15, just after 2:30 p.m., a female reported her purse was stolen at Brick Street Bar, and her credit card was unlawfully used, according to the OPD media report.

Also during the week, OPD responded to littering, public urination, an unruly juvenile and two unhoused people trespassing.
