Celebrating OFP's First Year
The Oxford Free Press (OFP) celebrated its first full year of publication and new staff members, Editor-in-Chief Aidan Cornue and Reporter Katelyn Aluise, on Aug. 22, 2025. The event took place on the top floor of The Lee and Rosemary Fisher Innovation College@Elm.
Donors, supporters and OFP readers visited to share their story ideas, meet the new staff and support local news.
James Rubenstein, President of the OFP Board of Directors, spoke at the event to share thanks and support to various members of the OFP team, including the two summer interns, Taylor Powers and Kethan Babu, as well as founding intern Taylor Stumbaugh. Rubenstein shared his support and celebration of OFP’s new employees, as well.
Mayor Bill Snavely spoke during the event about the importance of having a community newspaper, while longtime supporter Sally Southard spoke about her support of the OFP and its meaning to the Oxford community.
