Disputes, open container violations highlight busy weekend for OPD
OPD responds to fights and public urination, among other reports.

On Sept. 22 at 4:31 p.m., an Oxford Police Department (OPD) officer responded to a social media post that claimed a brown bear sighting, according to the media report. After investigation, the report was deemed unfounded and the person who made the post was warned for inducing panic.
On Sept. 23 at 9:46 a.m., an officer responded to a report of a burglary in progress, according to the media report. Through questioning, a female resident was found to have assaulted a male, prompting her arrest for domestic violence.
On Sept. 24 at 8:22 a.m., a female reported that her car’s passenger side window was shattered overnight while parked on the street, according to the media report.
On Sept. 25 at 4:57 a.m., a welfare check was called in for a female. According to the report, the female approached the person who called the welfare check and told the caller that she had been physically assaulted by her boyfriend. After confirming that the male had assaulted the female, officers arrested the male on multiple domestic violence related charges, according to the media report.
Later that morning at 8:58 a.m., a homemade table was reported stolen from the owner’s front yard, according to the media report. There are no suspects at this time.
At 2:39 p.m., OPD arrested a male for domestic violence against his father, according to the media report.
At 5:01 p.m., officers reported to Contreras Road for a report of an injured deer, according to the media report.
At 9:18 p.m., a female called herself in as suicidal, according to the media report. After speaking with officers, the female was placed on a 72-hour hold.
On Sept. 26 at 11:35 p.m., the person at fault for a car crash left the scene, according to the report. The driver, who was underage, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
On Sept. 27 at 12:04 a.m., officers were dispatched for a fight with several people involved, according to the media report. Upon arrival, one of the individuals involved, a 17 year old, was found to be heavily intoxicated, according to the media report.
Later that morning at 2:07 a.m., officers located a passed-out individual, according to the media report. The individual was transported to the hospital and issued a summons.
At 2:21 p.m., officers stopped a pedestrian for an open container violation and issued the subject a citation, according to the media report.
At 3:02 p.m., officers stopped a pedestrian for an open container violation and charged him with an underage alcohol offense, according to the media report.
At 4:47 p.m., officers responded to an intoxicated, underage male who had fallen and injured himself, according to the media report. He was charged with underage consumption.
At 6:04 p.m., a female carrying an open container was observed by officers and accordingly cited, according to the media report.
At 6:18 p.m., police stopped a 19- year-old female holding an open can of vodka seltzer while in the sidewalk area of a business, according to the media report.
Also at 6:18 p.m., officers arrived at Walmart to respond to a report of a male urinating inside of the store, according to the media report. After identifying the male, OPD filed a report to document the incident.
At 7:26 p.m., an unknown person walked off with a male’s cellphone, according to the media report.
At 11:25 p.m., a female was found to be underage and in possession of a fake ID while officers were conducting a bar check, according to the media report.
At 11:42 p.m., officers responded to a suicidal individual who was transported to the hospital.
On Sept. 28 at 12:04 a.m., a male was observed with an open container and charged accordingly, according to the media report.
At 12:48 a.m., a male was observed urinating and was issued a citation for disorderly conduct, according to the media report.
At 1:57 a.m., officers and EMS were dispatched for an unconscious 18-year-old female who was heavily intoxicated, according to the media report. She was transported to the hospital.
At 2:02 a.m., officers were dispatched to a dispute on South Poplar Street. According to the media report, a group of males was located and found to have been in an altercation. Two males were cited for having fake IDs.
At 2:12 a.m., officers were dispatched for a male yelling for help, according to the media report. Upon arrival, officers had to force, finding the man lying on the floor with a dislocated hip.
At 2:42 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Spring Street and Main Street for a dispute and, upon arrival, issued court summons, according to the media report.
At 3:18 a.m., two males were found moving a piece of property from a local business, according to the media report. Each individual was charged accordingly.
At 11:49 a.m., officers responded to a report of a dispute in progress, according to the media report. Upon arrival, one male was arrested for aggravated menacing and taken to the Butler County Jail.
