Two of the three school ballot measures open to Butler County voters failed on Tuesday.

Fairfield City School District once again saw a school levy fail. This election, the district proposed a temporary 5-year earned income tax to raise $23 million. 51.74% voted against the levy. Fairfield has not passed an operating levy since November 2011, which was projected to fund the district for two to three years.

The levy for Northwest Local School District also failed. The district proposed a 1.5% earned income tax to replace two existing property taxes. Votes went 81.4% for the levy. Voters last approved an operating levy in the Northwest Local School District in 2019.

Voters in the Lakota Local School District said yes to the bond issue on the ballot. The 2.2 mill bond issue, which will collect more than $223 million to fund daily operations, passed with 51.45% of the vote. Voters last approved an operating and permanent improvement levy for Lakota in 2013.
