OPD handles assaults, more fraud cases in slow week

OPD handles assaults, more fraud cases in slow week

On Dec. 1 at 12:41 p.m., Oxford Police Department (OPD) officers were dispatched to Miami Commons to take a burglary report, according to the media report. Multiple items were stolen from the residence and there are no suspects at this time.

On Dec. 2 at 2:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Annex apartments for a fraudulent activity report. The suspect requested the victim to cash in a fraudulent check and then transfer the money to the suspect, according to the media report. 

At 5:57 p.m., tomatoes and eggs were thrown on the side of a house on S. Main Street, according to the media report. The suspect has not been identified at this time.

At 8:55 p.m., an individual discovered shoe prints across the hood, windshield, roof and trunk of her car. She also discovered several dents from the suspect, according to the media report.

At 11:24 p.m., an 19-year-old individual was found unresponsive and highly intoxicated in the bathroom of a local bar, according to the media report. 

On Dec. 3 at 3:29 p.m., two parents got into an argument while trying to pick up their child on Sycamore Street. The situation was mediated and the child was sent home with the listed residential parent, according to the media report.

At 3:28 p.m., a juvenile expressed suicidal and self-harm intentions and was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for an evaluation, according to the media report.

On Dec. 6 at 3:12 p.m., an individual reported their wallet stolen, according to the media report.

On Dec. 7 at 3:26 a.m., officers were dispatched to Locust Street for an assault report. Upon arrival, officers found that the victim was attacked by an unknown male and a group of males. The victim’s wallet and phone were stolen, according to the media report. There are no suspects and an investigation is ongoing.
