The Oxford Police Department (OPD) euthanized two animals between Aug. 4 and 11. OPD also responded to various other reports, including telecommunications harassment and theft.

On Aug. 4, just after 10:30 a.m., an individual reported fraudulent charges on their electronic benefit transfer card, according to the department’s media report. A report was taken.

On Aug. 4, just after 4:30 p.m., an injured cat was humanely euthanized, according to the OPD media report.

On Aug. 5, just before 5 p.m., a man called police for a medical concern and was found to have three warrants out of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, according to the department’s media report. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Butler County Jail.

On Aug. 6 at 2:30 p.m., a woman reported that she had been receiving unwanted messages from a known person, according to the OPD media report. This had been happening for about a week, according to the incident report, and the woman decided not to press charges but asked if OPD could speak with the messenger. OPD contacted the sender and told them not to contact the woman again, or charges would be filed.

On Aug. 7, just after 1 p.m., a mother was arrested for creating a substantial risk to the health and safety of her child, according to the department’s media report. She was under the influence of narcotics while caring for the child, according to the incident report, and was transported to the Butler County Jail.

On Aug. 10, just after 2 p.m., a call was made about a sick raccoon, and it was later euthanized, according to the OPD media report.

OPD also issued numerous traffic citations during the week.
