OPD reports multiple open container violations, assaults
The Oxford Police Department (OPD) also reports of runaway teens and underage drinking.

On Sept. 8 at 1:13 a.m., a report was taken that described a threat made at a local grocery store over a driver in a parking spot “taking too long,” according to the media report. No charges were filed.
Later that day at 6:40 p.m., an underage male consented to a search of his bag, where multiple alcoholic beverages were found inside, according to the media report. The male was cited and released.
A few seconds later, officers were called to South Locust Street after a runaway teen was spotted in the area, according to the media report. The runaway was located later in the evening and found to have warrants, according to the media report. The media report also stated that two teens were found to be runaways. One was released to their guardian and the other, who had warrants, was transported to the juvenile detention center (JDC).
On Sept. 9 around 4:43 p.m., a vehicle was spotted that matched the description of a vehicle with a stolen license plate near College Corner Pike, according to the media report. After confirming that the plates were stolen, the driver was arrested and transported to jail.
On Sept. 11 at 2:35 p.m., two neighboring fraternities engaged in disorderly behavior, which resulted in a shattered window, according to the media report.
That same day, at 5:08 p.m., video evidence was filed for property damage from a two-vehicle crash on East Sycamore and Bishop streets, according to the media report.
On Sept. 12 at 2:55 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on South College Avenue for a faulty license plate light. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, according to the media report.
Around 9:55 p.m., officers observed two males walking with alcoholic beverages, according to the media report. Both were underage and one was in possession of multiple fake licenses. They were cited and released.
Later that night around 11:55 p.m., officers reported to McCullough-Hyde Hospital for a report of an assault that occurred at 36 E. High St., according to the media report. An investigation is ongoing.
On Sept 13 at 1:56 a.m., officers observed a male urinating on a church, according to the media report. When approached by officers, the individual was found to be holding an opened alcoholic beverage. The suspect attempted to flee, but was apprehended by police and found to be in possession of two fake IDs. They were taken to the Butler County Jail, according to the media report.
Later that morning at 3:13 a.m., officers observed three males walking with open cans of beer. The males were found to be underage and issued multiple alcohol-related summons and released, according to the media report.
At 7:23 p.m., officers were dispatched for a theft report for a stolen wallet, including all of its contents, according to the media report.
At 10:47 p.m., officers observed a female concealing a can, which was later confirmed to be an open alcoholic beverage, according to the media report. She was cited and released.
At 12:45 a.m. on Sept. 14, officers observed a concealed alcoholic beverage being carried by a male suspect, according to the media report. He was stopped, found to be underage and in possession of two fake IDs, issued citations and released.
At 4:40 a.m., OPD responded to a passed out male in an alley, according to the media report. He was transported to the hospital and issued a citation.
Later that morning at 5:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to the hospital for a report of an assault, according to the media report.
At 1:31 a.m. on Sept. 15, officers were dispatched for a father and son arguing, according to the media report. The son was found to be an unruly juvenile, according to the media report.
