OPD responds to multiple assault cases; stolen vehicle recovered
The Oxford Police Department responded to two assault cases, one domestic violence case and numerous active disputes last week.

The Oxford Police Department (OPD) responded to various incidents of violence, including assault and domestic violence, between July 14 and July 21. OPD also recovered a stolen vehicle.
On July 14, just before 4:30 p.m., a damaged clearance bar in the U.S. Bank’s ATM lane was reported. The vehicle and the time of the incident are unknown, according to the OPD media report.
On July 16, just before 9:30 p.m., a mother was injured due to a verbal altercation between two juveniles, according to the department’s media report. The suspects were identified and assault charges were filed.
On July 17, just after 5:30 p.m., OPD responded to a welfare check of a juvenile after alleged abuse was reported, according to the department’s media report. No signs of abuse were found on arrival, but a referral was made to Children Services.
On July 18, just before 11 a.m., a vehicle was found parked and unoccupied with a missing window, according to the OPD media report. It was confirmed stolen through Hamilton County and was towed.
On July 19, just after 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a dispute in progress, according to the department’s media report. Three parties were identified, and one was injured. All declined to press criminal charges. An information report was taken.
On July 20, just before 3:30 a.m., a man reported a missing wallet to OPD, according to the department’s media report. The man said he lost it either at a restaurant or on his walk home, but was notified by his bank that someone attempted to log into his account.
Also during the week, OPD took a report from a local business about suspicious activity and issued a recite for a woman with a warrant.
