OPD responds to various alcohol-related incidents this week

The Oxford Police Department (OPD) handled various crime reports this week, including multiple possessions of fake IDs, underage drinking, disorderly conduct and a dog bite.
On Aug. 18, just after 3:20 p.m., OPD was dispatched to conduct a welfare check on a confused woman, according to the department’s media report. According to the media report, the female was found to have an active arrest warrant. She was transported to the hospital and after being discharged, resisted arrest, OPD said in the media report.
Also on Aug. 18, around 7:30 p.m., a male backed his vehicle out of a parking space of a business and struck the building, according to the media report. After the crash, the male fled the scene and multiple citations were issued to the male.
On Aug. 19, just after 6 p.m., OPD responded to a report of a suspicious trailer parked in the driveway at 320 W. Vine St. While on scene, officers discovered that someone had entered the house and took multiple items from the property, according to the media report. The trailer is believed to be connected to the burglary on the property and was towed to the Oxford Police Impound.
On Aug. 20, at around 3:40 p.m., OPD received a report of telecommunications fraud. The individuals claimed to be scammed out of money after receiving a phone call that falsely accused him of failing to appear for jury duty and a report was filed.
Also on Aug. 20, just after 8:20 p.m., a DoorDash driver was reported to be bitten by a dog while working.
On Aug. 21, at around 1:10 a.m., officers responded to reports of a passed out female near 36 N. High St. Upon arriving, the individual was identified and found to be under the legal drinking age and highly intoxicated, according to the department’s media report. She was charged accordingly and transported to McCollough-Hyde Hospital.
Nearly 30 minutes later on the same night, near 20 N. High St., officers arrested another female passed out on the ground. She was also in possession of fake IDs, according to the media report.
Also on Aug. 21, around 12:30 p.m., officers received a call from an individual who reported fraudulent activity on their bank account.
At 10:10 p.m. on that same day, trespassers were called in at Cobblestone Community Church. One trespasser had an open warrant and was issued a recite, according to the media report.
At around 11:30 p.m. that evening, OPD and EMS were dispatched to 15 N. Poplar St. to respond to a male having a seizure. Upon arrival, the individual was found to be in possession of a fake ID, according to the media report.
On Aug. 22, just after 5:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to 220 Beech St. to respond to a male passed out in the yard. The male was evaluated by EMS and found to be underage and in possession of a fake ID, according to the media report. The individual was transported home after receiving multiple citations.
On that same day, just after 5 p.m., officers responded to a report regarding two individuals who were not picked up by their guardian. OPD transported the two individuals to their guardian and a CPS referral was made.
On Aug. 23, just after 12:30 a.m., two males came into the OPD lobby to report an assault. One of the males involved in the assault was found and cited, according to the media report. The two other suspects have not been identified.
Ten minutes after the prior incident, a male was observed behind 25 W. High St. holding a cup containing an alcoholic beverage, according to the media report. He was issued a summons and released.
At around 2 a.m. on the same morning, OPD found an individual passed out in an alley. Medics responded to the scene and transported the individual to the hospital. According to the media report, the individual was found to be underage and in possession of a fake ID.
Around 45 minutes after the prior incident, a male was assaulted by a large group of unknown individuals near the 100 block of N. Poplar St. The male sustained a significant injury to his face, according to the media report.
Later that morning, around 5:45 a.m., a male was observed recklessly driving a 4-wheeler on city property, according to the media report. An OPD officer initiated a traffic stop but the individual fled into an apartment complex. The driver was arrested and transported to the Butler County Jail.
An hour later, a male reported that a female kicked him in the leg after a dispute over a parking space. Multiple conflicting reports were collected and an investigation was started, according to the media report.
At around 8 p.m., a male was observed by OPD walking on S. Poplar St. with an opened alcoholic beverage and issued a summons.
Just after 10:45 p.m., a female was stopped for a traffic violation. She was found in possession of alcoholic beverages and under the age of 21, according to the media report. She was cited and released by officers.
After 11:15 p.m., a male was observed walking in an alley behind the police station carrying two alcoholic beverages, according to the media report. He was found to be under the age of 21 and in possession of two fake IDs. He was issued multiple citations and released.
Just before 11:40 p.m., an open container turned into an underage arrest and fake ID, according to the department’s media report.
On Aug. 24, around 12:30 a.m., while responding to a gas leak that was called in, OPD found a male throwing up in bushes nearby. The male was found to be intoxicated, under the age of 21 and in possession of a fake ID, according to the media report.
15 minutes after the prior incident, OPD responded to a fight in front of 10 Park Place West. After talking to witnesses and individuals involved, officers issued four citations for inciting disorderly conduct.
On the same day at 1:40 a.m., officers responded to an unwanted, intoxicated male outside of a residence. The male was transported home and issued a court summons.
At 2:35 a.m., an open container turned into an arrest for underage and possible possession of drugs, pending testing.
Just after 2:50 a.m. that morning, an officer was flagged down for a fight in a parking lot on Main St. Upon arrival, a large group of individuals was observed, according to the media report. After further investigation, a video was obtained that showed two females fighting.
Later in the morning, at around 8:45 a.m., a male was observed via CCTV damaging the property of a resident. The male was identified and cited with criminal damaging, according to the department’s media report.
