Oxford residents honor Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Oxford residents gathered for Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration 2026 at the Oxford Community Arts Center on Jan. 19.
Sponsored by the Oxford NAACP Branch and the City of Oxford, the event featured an art exhibition showcasing local children’s art.
Following the exhibit, Martin Luther King Jr. Day was commemorated. Open to all guests, speakers included Rev. Vanessa Cummings, Fran Jackson, Ann Wegler, Phoenix Havens-Hillman, Jamie Corbin, Jacqueline Rioja Velarde, William Miller and Ronald B. Scott.
