Oxford to host its 10th annual community yard sale

The yard sale will be on Aug. 16, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and will be held at the TRI Community Center.

Oxford is hosting its 10th annual community yard sale on Aug. 16, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and will be held at the TRI Community Center. Sellers can arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. to begin setting up their booths.

Chad Smith, the director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Oxford, believes this event is popular among citizens, and highlights different aspects of the community.

“We try to have a good variety of things that try to peak interests for all of the citizens – and this is a unique one,” Smith said. “We would love for members to come and check us out.”

Oxford’s Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) is responsible for hosting the event and organizing the registration of tables, chairs and vendors, while participants are residents from around the area and register on their own dime.

Each vendor is charged $20 to run a 10-by-10 foot booth with seating. A $10 registration fee is required for a 10-by-10 foot booth without seating or a table. Extra tables will cost $5.

Registration is open until Aug. 15, and can be completed either online on OPRD’s website or in person at the TRI Community Center.
