Gini Maddocks, owner and founder of Snazzy Boutique, hosted a fashion show that raised nearly $3,000.

The Twenty One, a restaurant and bar on West College Corner known for hosting blues music, held the event on Aug. 10 and tallied a crowd of 65.

The fashion show featured eight women dressed in various sorts of clothing provided by Maddocks from her store, which is home to a vast assortment of clothing from around the world, local art, jewelry and even a massage room, another business that Maddocks takes part in.

Maddocks also had a gift auction at the event. This entailed guests buying a ticket that would be randomly drawn in order to receive a gift or item from her store.

“They would come in to choose what they wanted to wear,” Maddocks said, “which gave me a real insight into these people.”

Maddocks believes that each model from the show was fully represented in their clothing choices.

“If you dress the way you want to feel, sometimes you can change how you do feel,” she said. “I wanted to see what that meant to them and that was fascinating.”

Each model conjured up three different outfits, fully complete with jewelry, according to Maddocks.

The Twenty One received half of the raised funds, according to Maddocks.

Maddocks decided to give the remaining $1,455 back to Oxford through the Talawanda Oxford Pantry and Social Services (TOPSS).

TOPSS is planning on using the donated funds to help purchase food for the pantry, according to Sherry Martin, executive director at TOPSS.

A check was presented and given to TOPSS from Maddocks at a small ceremony on Monday, Sept. 8 at Snazzy Boutique. Maddocks donated a pair of shoes to TOPSS after the ceremony.

Mayor Bill Snavely was in attendance.

Maddocks is considering another fashion show in 2026 to raise more funds, but no official plans are set.
