Stabbing, multiple theft reports occur during Valentine’s Day weekend

The Oxford Police Department also received two reports of thefts from local businesses on High Street.

The Oxford Police Department (OPD) responded to a stabbing the night after Valentine’s Day, as well as two reports of theft, between Feb. 9 and 16.

On Feb. 14, just after 2:30 p.m., an unknown male stole an “adult toy” from Wild Berry, according to the OPD media report. The male entered the adult section, removed the toy from its packaging and placed it in his pocket before leaving the store, according to the incident report.

Also on Feb. 14, just after 4 p.m., a woman reported that her car was damaged overnight at Hawks Landing, according to the OPD media report. There are no known suspects at this time, according to the incident report.

On Feb. 15, just before 3 a.m., an unknown male stole approximately $35 worth of merchandise from Skipper’s Pub & Top Deck, according to the OPD media report.

Also on Feb. 15, just before 3:30 a.m., an officer was approached by a woman who said her friend had just been stabbed at a house on Reaghs Way, according to the OPD media report. The suspect was known to the individuals, and was located and taken into custody by police.
