Medicaid-covered dental care services coming to Oxford this summer

Primary Health Solutions, a non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Southwest Ohio, will be providing Medicaid-covered dental care services in Oxford this summer.
The group recently received a $150,000 grant from the Delta Dental Foundation, a nonprofit charity organization that covers the areas of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, to help fund this project.
The project totals nearly $300,000, with the grant covering over half of the costs, including equipment, which tallies at over $200,000 alone.
The center, located at 10 N. Locust St. inside the TriHealth building, will also offer medical services, as part of the group’s focus on integrated care.
Kerri Montemurro, senior director of dental services at Primary Care Solutions, said, “We serve all individuals, regardless of their circumstances and we ensure that they have access to high quality healthcare.”

She said creating a center in Oxford has been a desire for her, as the area previously didn’t have a center that accepted Medicaid as a provider.
“(Oxford) is an area that is in high need for dental care,” Montemurro said. “Transportation is a big barrier.”
The center will also support students at local schools and provide transportation during the school day.
“That is something that is very unique that we’re able to offer,” Montemurro said. “This allows a kid to be taken over (to the center) during the school day (and) doesn’t count against their attendance.”
The center will also carry behavioral health services and offer sports physicals, vaccinations and more to students.
Montemurro hopes the center will open in June.
