Janie L. Wiesman, age 66, passed away peacefully at Golden Years Nursing Center on Feb. 25, 2026, marking both the end of a beautiful life and her 66th birthday.

Born in Oxford, Ohio, to Larry and Judith Smallwood (nee Garver) Janie was a woman defined by her kindness and her dedication to those she loved.

Janie was the beloved wife of 43 years to Robert F. Wiesman, Sr. Together, they built a life centered on family and community. A devoted mother, she is survived by her children: Nicole Smallwood (nee James), Racheal (Richie) Cobb, Robert F. (Melanie) Wiesman and James K (Missi) Wiesman; and brother in law James Wiesman, Bill (Bonita) Wiesman, Mike (Nancy) Niebling and wonderful aunt to all her nieces and nephews as well as a wonderful niece to her uncles.

She was a proud grandmother to Shane Wilburn, Samantha (Katie) Wilburn, Lilly Wiesman, Caleb Wiesman and Colton C. Wiesman, and her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Maia Maynard and Luke Wilburn. Janie is also survived by her siblings Hansja (Donnie) Braam and Shane (Lisa) Anderson and her mother, Judith. She now joins her granddaughter, the late Breanna Smallwood, in eternal rest.

A Life of Passion and Service, Janie had a vibrant spirit and a wide array of hobbies that kept her connected to the world around her. She was a dedicated Cincinnati Bengals fan and found great purpose in her community involvement through Ham Radio and Storm Spotting.

Above all, Janie loved the outdoors and the warmth of her home. Whether she was fishing, camping, or orchestrating the perfect Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas morning, her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her family. She was a caregiver at heart as an STNA for 30 years and always looking for ways to help others.
