Obituary: Nancy Litherland

Nancy was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Pernella (nee Hovind) and Charles Kopacek on Aug. 13, 1942. 

Nancy grew up in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She married Gary Litherland in 1960 and moved to Illinois where she resided until 2023. 

She settled at The Knolls in Oxford, Ohio to be closer to her daughter, Denice Bachmann. 

Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. She was an avid tennis fan and her love of antiques reflected her appreciation for history and tradition. Our mother was the anchor of our family. She set the standards and values that created a loving home. Nancy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was the beloved mother of Troy (Amy) Litherland and Denice (Eric) Bachmann; cherished grandmother of Candace Litherland, Kristen (John) Pia, Matthew (Hannah) Middendorf and step-grandmother to Carol (Shane) Schlichter; and great-grandmother to Trenton, Brooklyn, Kali, Brynna, Liberty, Maui, Lilo, Gus and Ben. 

A funeral service for Nancy will be held at the Knolls of Oxford Auditorium on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
