Obituary: Nancy Mlinarik
Nancy Mlinarik, age 70, of Oxford, Ohio, and Lake Nolan, Kentucky, died suddenly on Sept. 15, 2026, at her home.
She was born Aug. 1, 1956, to Daniel and Ann Mawer, the third of three children. Raised in a loving Christian family, her faith was always a part of her life. She served as Sunday school superintendent at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Northern Kentucky for 17 years, and most recently, attended Faith Lutheran Church in Oxford.
One of her proudest moments came when she earned a full scholarship to the University of Toledo, graduating in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. While in school, she was a dance instructor and a majorette.
After graduating, she directed her degree and energy to skilled care Pharmacy, connecting companies and organizations to the latest technology to manage and distribute medicines to patients. It was a vocation she loved, and her current position with JFCRx enabled her to do meaningful work with coworkers who had become friends during her career.
She also belonged to many professional organizations related to her profession, including the Ohio Health Care Organization, Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities, Association of Ohio Philanthropic Homes and Housing for the Aging, the Assisted Living Facilities Association of America, The American College of Nursing Home Administrators and the National Director of Nurses Association.
Outside of her profession, her passions included the Browns – whom she cheered for regardless of their win/loss record – pickleball, travel and of course, the people in her life. She was the one who would drop everything to join you for a margarita after a bad day, go to a pickleball weekend in the mountains or on the beach, or take a last-minute trip to Las Vegas to sit with her new granddaughter. She also loved cooking for others, music and having dinner with her P.E.O. sisters, dancing, reading and hanging out with her dog, Finn.
She is survived by her daughter, Nikki (Eric) Ayers; her son, Danny Mlinarik; her brother, Dan (Mary Alice) Mawer; and her granddaughter, Autumn Ann; nieces Maureen (Heath) Kelly and Kathryn (Chris Goff) Mawer; as well as additional family members and numerous friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Marilyn Jean Mawer.Nancy always appreciated kindness, a good laugh, and the small, everyday moments that make life rich.
Please join us to celebrate Nancy on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Faith Lutheran Church located at 420 S. Campus Avenue in Oxford from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. A reception will follow beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Oxford Country Club at 6200 Contreras Road in Oxford, OH.
