Violet M. Suit, age 99, went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 12 surrounded by her loving children.

Born in Bright, Indiana, Vi lived in Cleves and North Bend, before moving to Oxford in 1967 and working in Miami University’s Bursar and then payroll office, from which she retired.

Vi’s faith, love and creativity touched people of all ages. Her strong faith and love informed generations of family and friends. Friends, neighbors and their children frequently enjoyed her warm welcome and heartfelt hospitality. She was deeply involved in the Oxford Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and an elder and contributing her energy and lively spirit to events and organizations.

Vi was preceded in death by her beloved husband Walter.

She is survived by her children Greg (Karen) Suit, Carolyn (Ray) Ochs, Bruce (Kelly) Suit and Amy (Keith) McGoldrick; grandchildren Ted (Melanie) Anthony, Joshua (fiancé Domenique) Suit, Keith (Kara) Cecil, Matthew Suit, Grace Suit, Amanda (Kevin) Losekamp and Justin (fiancé Nora) McGoldrick; and great grandchildren Brisbin Anthony, Pryce Anthony, Cort Anthony, Hannah Anthony, Katelyn Cecil, Kiersten Cecil, Kevin Cecil, Arlo Losekamp, Leo Losekamp and Walter Losekamp.

Forever in our hearts, we will honor her with a celebration of life on Friday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. at Oxford Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the stained glass restoration fund or the choir scholarship fund of Oxford Presbyterian Church.
