OPD responds to theft, car crash and online threats
On Oct. 13 at 11:23 p.m., an officer responded to the scene of a car crash, according to the media report. The involved driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI).
On Oct. 15 at 11:37 a.m., a resident reported that some jewelry was missing from her apartment, according to the media report.
On Oct. 16 at 11:45 a.m., an individual came into the Oxford Police Department (OPD) to report being hit in the face by a beer can some days earlier, according to the media report.
Later that day, at 11:31 p.m., a 21 year-old male made a post to Snapchat threatening to harm himself, according to the media report.
On Oct. 17 at 2 a.m., OPD officers and EMS were dispatched for a report of an unconscious male outside Skyline Chili. According to the media report, the individual was found to be underage and heavily intoxicated.
Shortly after, at 2:57 a.m., a male falsely pulled a fire alarm in the 400 block of East Vine Street, according to the media report. While on scene, the suspect admitted to the act and was detained. Upon his detaining, he became verbally and physically aggressive and was transported to McCullough-Hyde Hospital and placed on psych hold by the Oxford Fire Department (OFD).
At 3:47 p.m., a female reported a civil custody dispute with her former partner, according to the media report. An informational report was taken by officers.
On Oct. 18 at 1:14 a.m., officers were waved down for a passed out male in East Park Place. Upon arrival, the individual was found to have a warrant in another county, according to the media report.
Shortly after, at 1:39 a.m., a male was found passed out and intoxicated. According to the media report, the male was transported to the hospital by the OFD and received a summons for disorderly conduct and an underage violation.
At 2:48 p.m., officers met with subjects in the OPD lobby to discuss threatening Snapchat messages, according to the media report. An investigation is ongoing.
At 3:55 p.m., officers arrived at McCullough-Hyde Hospital for a report of an assault, according to the media report. No suspects have been identified at this time.
At 7:26 p.m., officers arrived at Brick Street Bar for a report of an intoxicated male, according to the media report. He was found to be underage and in possession of a fake ID and was cited and released.
