OPD handles various incidents; woman stabbed in altercation
The Oxford Police Department also responded to two mental health-related incidents.
The Oxford Police Department (OPD) responded to various incidents between Jan. 5 and 12, including a woman who was stabbed during an altercation and a damaged car wash bay.
On Jan. 6, just after 9 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Oxford Winter House for an individual who was having mental issues, according to the OPD media report. The individual was unable to stay the night.
On Jan. 7, just before 10 p.m., officers responded to a dispute at the Miami Mobile Home Park, according to the OPD media report. An individual was taken to the hospital for a dog bite.
On Jan. 8, just after 1 p.m., an individual was found deceased in their apartment after neighbors told OPD they had not seen the resident for several days, according to the OPD media report.
Also on Jan. 8, just after 4 p.m., one of the auto car wash bays at Car Wash of Oxford was damaged by a truck that was too large for the bay, according to the OPD media report. The driver was still on the scene and a report was taken.
On Jan. 10, just before 2 a.m., a woman was stabbed during an altercation, according to the OPD media report. The female suspect was known and eventually apprehended a short time later.
Also on Jan. 10, just after 3 p.m., a man was transported to the hospital and placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold, according to the OPD media report.
Also during the week, OPD euthanized an injured raccoon.
