OPD responds to two reports of domestic violence, aggravated menacing incident
The Oxford Police Department charged two women with domestic violence. It also arrested one man for threatening a vehicle with a firearm.

The Oxford Police Department (OPD) responded to two reports of domestic violence and one report of a man threatening another vehicle with a firearm between June 2 and June 9. OPD also responded to calls for theft and drug possession.
On June 2, just before 10 p.m., a male was arrested for pointing a firearm at another vehicle after a road rage incident, according to the OPD media report. A truck, which had previously been driving aggressively near the car, stopped abruptly after crossing railroad tracks, causing it to collide from behind. The driver began going toward OPD, and the truck followed close behind.
The driver told officers that “while in the area of Walnut and Poplar [the truck] was coming at them somehow,” according to the incident report. The truck driver pulled up parallel to the car and pointed a firearm at them, yelling to get out of the car. Once he drove off, the driver called OPD, and the truck driver was later arrested.
Also on June 2, a little after 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a call about a “suspicious person walking around, appearing to be intoxicated on narcotics,” according to the OPD media report. It was soon discovered he had an active warrant, but he resisted when officers tried to carry out the arrest. He was taken to OPD for processing, transported to the Butler County Jail and charged with resisting arrest.
A female crashed her car into Goodwill on South Locust Street on June 3 just after 3 a.m. It was “advised that she had fallen asleep and awoke during impact into the building,” according to the incident report.
Later, an officer returned to review footage of the crash and aftermath, which showed the female exiting her car after the crash and placing items in a bush. The officer found a small baggie of an off white substance and a glass smoking pipe in the bush, and OPD seized the items as evidence. The substance has been sent to the labs for identification.
Also on June 3, at 11 a.m., a female was arrested for domestic violence after it was found that she had assaulted her boyfriend and his son, according to the OPD media report.
On June 5, at 12:15 a.m., OPD was called for a dispute between a male and a female in a parking lot. The male said he was assaulted by the female, and she was arrested for domestic violence.
Two females were brought to a hospital for overdoses on June 7, just before 9 a.m., and on June 8, before 5:30 p.m., respectively. During a search of the second female’s belongings, an unused syringe was found.
Also during the week, OPD responded to a variety of other reports, including burglary, a juvenile making threats at a camp, stolen items from the Indian Trace Apartments’ property shed and serving a probation warrant.
