Oxford Community Arts Center hosts Ox Chalks the Walks
Artists competed in a sidewalk art contest, and the winners of the youth and adult competitions earned a cash prize.
The Oxford Community Arts Center hosted its annual Ox Chalks the Walks event on Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Artists competed in a sidewalk art contest, with the winners of the youth and adult competitions earning a cash prize. Every artist kept an 18-piece chalk set as part of the entrance fee.

Attendants also listened to live music from Chad Wonsik, followed by Vernon McIntyre’s Appalachian Grass, visited booths from various craft vendors and enjoyed food from the Deez Tacos food truck and Graeter’s Ice Cream.
In the youth category, Mary W. won best overall while Ellie W. won the judges’ choice. Li O. took best overall in the adult category, and the judges selected Glenn J. for their choice.
