Oxford Free Press wins 2 awards, named finalists for 3 at annual Ohio SPJ Awards

The Oxford Free Press won two Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) awards, and was a finalist in three categories at Ohio’s annual awards ceremony.

The former editor of the Free Press, Sean Scott, won the Beat Reporting category with “Housing” and the Government Issues category with “Parkview Arms under scrutiny after sending eviction notices to residents.”

The Free Press was named a finalist for the Breaking News Coverage category with “David Bothast, first-term Talawanda board member, resigns,” covered by Scott.

The Free Press was named a finalist for the Education Reporting category with “New year, same routes: Talawanda continues busing at state minimum,” covered by former reporting intern Taylor Stumbaugh.

The Free Press was named a finalist for the Newspaper Page One Design category by designer Macey Chamberlin.
