Oxford Township approves 2026 Tax Budget
Oxford Township's next trustee meeting is set for Aug. 11.

The Oxford Township Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting on July 14 at Township Hall. In addition to reviewing and approving financial reports for the previous month, the Trustees approved the 2026 Tax Budget. This formal action is required to establish that expected revenue and resources will cover the expected budget for the coming year. The 2026 Tax Budget for all Oxford Township expenditures is $1,444,235.70.
Road Superintendent Johnny Smith reported that he expects to focus on mowing, brush cutting and equipment maintenance during the next month. In recent weeks, severe storms resulted in damage to some road signs as well as trees causing downed trees and limbs.
Police Chief Piccioni reported that in the month ending July 14, the Department received 325 calls for service, made 155 traffic stops resulting in 17 citations, responded to three crashes, took 17 reports, made three arrests and responded to 19 calls for assistance to other area agencies. Recently purchased firearms, safety vests and radios are now all assigned to personnel and are in use.
The Trustees accepted a quote for $15,530 to replace the roof on the Township building from Butler County Construction Services. The Trustees also agreed to hire a local self-employed cleaning person to perform housekeeping services twice weekly at the Township building.
The Trustees discussed two nuisance properties and also discussed possible road paving projects for 2026. The Butler County Engineer’s Office will prepare cost estimates for paving Indian Creek Road and segments of Kehr, Booth and Oxford Milford Roads. A final decision for next year's work will be made late this year after the estimates are reviewed.
The next meeting of the Oxford Township Trustees will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 11 at Township Hall. Virtual attendance is possible.
