The Oxford Township Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting on April 14 at Township Hall. The Trustees reviewed and approved financial reports for the previous month and passed Resolutions to authorize the replacement and repair of culverts on Todd Road and Springwood Drive. A third Resolution authorized Police Chief Patrick Piccioni to sell three surplus police vehicles.

Road Superintendent Johnny Smith reported that the paving contractor has completed base repairs on Taylor Road and will begin paving shortly. He completed his first round of mowing and spring cleanup at the cemetery on Brown Road. He reported that he will schedule driveway culvert cleaning and roadside ditch work with a Butler County crew in the coming weeks.

Police Chief Piccioni reported that in the month ending April 14, the Department received 310 calls for service, responded to 17 crashes, took 25 reports, made 8 arrests and responded to 7 calls for assistance to other area agencies. Firearm qualification with the recently purchased handguns for all department personnel has been scheduled for late May. The Trustees approved Chief Piccioni's request that he and Major King be registered to attend the annual conference of the International Chiefs of Police in Denver later this year.

The Trustees reviewed the final edited version of the updated Land Use Plan and directed Trustee Pennock to submit it to the Butler County Planning Commission for review.

Trustee Pennock reported on the roof damage that was discovered recently while new soffits were being installed on the Township building. After discussion of roof repair versus roof replacement, the Trustees agreed that bids will be solicited for a complete roof replacement.

Trustee Salmon reported on the recent inspection of damaged weather sirens in the Township; the Trustees authorized their repair.

The next meeting of the Oxford Township Trustees will be at 6:30 on Monday, May 12 at Township Hall. Virtual attendance is possible.
