Theft, assault and fraud make up a busy week in Oxford
Oxford Police Department (OPD) handles multiple theft reports, assaults, fraudulent bank actions and open container violations during the first full week of November.
On Nov. 3 at 8:05 a.m., officers responded to a theft report. Items were reportedly taken from a tenant's vehicle, according to the media report. No suspects have been identified.
At 3:58 p.m., an individual came into the lobby of the Oxford Police Department (OPD) to report her purse stolen, according to the media report.
At 5:03 p.m., a male reported his wallet stolen and several charges were made to his debit card, according to the media report. There is no suspect at this time.
At 5:41 p.m., an individual came into the OPD to report items missing from her house.
At 6:18 p.m., a juvenile shoplifted several items from Walmart. Upon being approached by officers, the individual lied about his identity, according to the media report. He was cited for theft and police obstruction. He was released to a parent.
At 9:42 p.m., an individual came into the OPD to file a harassment report, according to the media report.
On Nov. 4 at 8:25 a.m., officers responded to a sexual assault report, according to the media report.
On Nov. 5 at 1:58 a.m., a male entered a building without permission, according to the media report.
At 7:42 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence involving a juvenile, according to the media report.
On Nov. 6 at 10:39 a.m., a resident reported he received an email from LifeLock about a new loan opened using his information, according to the media report.
At 5:06 p.m., a female paid $66 for a background check during an apartment search on Facebook Marketplace. The address listed did not have an apartment listing, according to the media report.
At 8:24 p.m., a female said her mother assaulted her. After an investigation, officers removed the daughter to stay with a relative, according to the media report.
On Nov. 7 at 10:48 a.m., an officer was shown video of a person who sat on a ledge of a window at 15 W. High St., causing the window to crack, according to the media report.
At 1:25 p.m., Oxford Animal Control followed up with an individual who was bitten by a dog the day before, according to the media report.
On Nov. 8 at 1:14 a.m., officers were dispatched to Schneider Electric for a male trespassing on the property. The individual was located and found to be heavily intoxicated, underage and in possession of a fake ID, according to the media report. He was charged with underage consumption and possession of a fictitious driver's license.
At 7:31 p.m., a male was observed urinating outdoors, according to the media report, He was found to be under 21 and in possession of alcohol and two fake IDs. He was cited and released.
On Nov. 9 at 2:41 a.m., officers responded to a possible fight, according to the media report. Upon arrival, no fight was occurring, and a male was seen walking away with an open container of alcohol. The male was stopped and found to be underage and in possession of a fake ID.
At 12:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism, according to the media report.
