$4k in Legos stolen from Walmart, animal control responds to aggressive dog on trails
The Oxford Police Department responded to several other theft incidents, including a stolen package and an Amazon Fire TV Stick.

The Oxford Police Department (OPD) responded to several theft reports between July 19 and 27, including one report of a male who stole over $4,000 in Legos from Walmart in March.
On July 19, officers met with a loss prevention employee at Walmart to discuss two potentially related theft incidents, according to the OPD media report.
On March 2, a male reportedly entered Walmart, loaded two shopping carts with Lego boxes and left without paying, according to an incident report. The male was then seen on CCTV footage moving the merchandise into a vehicle and exiting the parking lot. The male stole 64 Lego boxes worth over $4,000 total.
According to the incident report, the loss prevention employee was informed of the theft but was off at the time and could not complete a follow-up investigation until he returned to work. The report did not state how long the employee was off.
On July 15, an employee reportedly observed a male throwing bags of merchandise over the fence from the Walmart Garden Center into the parking lot, according to an incident report. Other employees responded to a radio call for assistance, which the male was believed to have heard.
The male fled the store and left in a vehicle. The merchandise, worth over $5,000 total, was recovered outside the store.
The OPD believes the same male committed both thefts, as the description of his appearance and vehicle is consistent between reports and CCTV footage, according to an incident report. The male is also believed to be a well-known repeat offender at numerous other Walmart locations. The investigation is ongoing.
On July 20, just after noon, a package was reported stolen from the Fox and Hounds Apartments common area, according to the OPD media report.
On July 20, just before 3:30 p.m., officers met with an individual for a report of vandalism, according to the OPD media report. A report was taken, but no suspects were identified at the time.
On July 21 at 9 a.m., Animal Control officers spoke with a dog’s owners regarding multiple reports of the dog acting aggressively on portions of the Oxford Area Trails System, according to the OPD media report.
On July 24, just before 11 a.m., an Amazon Fire TV Stick was reported stolen after two people were hired off Facebook to assist in a move, according to the OPD media report.
On July 25, just after 4 p.m., a male reported his debit card information was stolen and used to make several withdrawals, according to the OPD media report.
On July 25, just after 7:30 p.m., officers assisted a male with recovering his stolen bicycle, according to the OPD media report.
Also during the week, OPD responded to a harassment report.
