Citizen of the Year nominations
Nominations will be accepted until 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2026.
Nominations for Oxford Citizen of the Year and Citizen of the Years are now being accepted by the Oxford Kiwanis Club.
Citizen of the Year is presented to someone who has contributed materially to making the Oxford Community a better place to live, with those contributions being made during 2026. Citizen of the Years honors someone whose commitment to community services covers a longer span of time.
Residents who have made contributions to the community through volunteer efforts are eligible. Responsibilities that are included as part of employment are not eligible for consideration.
Nominations must include a written background on the nominee, the contributions that would make them a great nominee, the category for which they are nominated and contact information for the nominator (phone number and email) in the event that additional information is needed.
Nominations will be accepted until 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2026. Nominations should be dropped off or mailed to the New York Life office at 5995 Fairfield Road, Suite 1, Oxford, Ohio 45056 or emailed to Mike Rudolph at mrudo200@aol.com.
Recipients of the 2026 awards will be announced in the Jan. 8, 2027 issue of the Oxford Free Press. They will be honored by the Oxford Kiwanis Club at a luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2027 at The Knolls of Oxford, where they will receive a watercolor of Uptown Oxford by local artist Marjorie Bowers and reproduced through a grant from the Oxford Community Foundation.
Previous recipients of the awards are invited to attend the meeting to select this year’s winners Saturday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m., at the Knolls of Oxford Clubhouse. Contact Mike Rudolph at (513) 523-2335 or email mrudo200@aol.com if you plan to attend the meeting.
