OPD responds to alcohol offenses, theft reports
The Oxford Police Department received two shoplifting reports from Walmart.
The Oxford Police Department (OPD) responded to several alcohol offenses and theft reports between Sept. 28 and Oct. 5.
On Sept. 28, just after 1 p.m., officers responded to a shoplifting report at Walmart, according to the OPD media report. Two suspects have been identified.
On Sept. 29, just before 3:30 p.m., a female reported she was scammed out of $400 after she received fraudulent concert tickets, according to the OPD media report.
On Sept. 29, just before 5 p.m., a female reported her electric scooter was stolen from the Miami Preserve, according to the OPD media report.
On Sept. 30, just before 11:30 p.m., two males were reported as possibly operating a vehicle under the influence, according to the OPD media report. One male was charged with having physical control of the vehicle.
From Oct. 1-4, 10 separate individuals were charged with alcohol-related offenses, including underage consumption of alcohol or open container violations, according to the OPD media report. Of these individuals, five also had fictitious identification.
On Oct. 2, just after 11 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of East Church Street reported their speaker was stolen from their porch, according to the OPD media report.
On Oct. 3, just after 6 p.m., a social media post revealed a sign from DuBois Book Store was stolen, according to the OPD media report.
On Oct. 4, just before 9 p.m., officers responded to Walmart for a shoplifter, who was identified and charged accordingly, according to the OPD media report.
Also during the week, OPD responded to a domestic dispute.
