The Oxford Police Department (OPD) responded to several damaged or stolen vehicles between June 8 and 15.

On June 9, just before 4 p.m., a property manager reported a racial slur was spray-painted on an alley wall at the rear of a house in the 100 block of East Walnut Street, according to the OPD media report. It is unclear who did this and when the incident occurred, but it was most likely after Miami University students left for the summer, according to the incident report.

On June 10, just after 2 p.m., officers responded to a theft at Wild Berry that occurred on June 6, according to the OPD media report. A juvenile was observed on video surveillance shoplifting merchandise and was later contacted by OPD, according to the incident report.

On June 12, just after 8 a.m., a male reported his vehicle had been damaged overnight in the 200 block of Reagan Place, according to the OPD media report.

On June 12, just before 8:30 a.m., an unlocked vehicle was reported to have its steering column damaged overnight in the 200 block of Foxfire Drive, according to the OPD media report.

On June 12, just before 10 a.m., a resident of The Maples Apartments reported her vehicle was stolen overnight from the parking lot, according to the OPD media report.

On June 13, just before 5 a.m., a male contacted police after he sent $700 to a scammer, according to the OPD media report.

On June 13, just before 9:30 p.m., a white sedan in an apartment complex’s parking lot in the 400 block of Wells Mill Drive was reported to police as suspicious, according to the OPD media report. The caller noticed broken glass in the backseat and a tampered steering column, and it was later confirmed the vehicle was stolen from Cincinnati.

On June 14 at 6:30 p.m., a female reported her vehicle was keyed overnight in the 20 block of Day Circle, according to the OPD media report.

Also during the week, OPD responded to a report of telecommunications harassment, mediated a dispute between two individuals, arrested a wanted individual and located a missing juvenile.
