Oxford Free Press named finalist at 2025 Nonprofit News Awards
The Oxford Free Press was named as a finalist in the Startup of the Year category.

The Institute for Nonprofit News (INN) announced its list of finalists for a variety of publications across the country.
According to its website, INN hopes to highlight through these awards “the most powerful reporting from nonprofit news outlets over the past year [that] went beyond simply telling compelling stories.”
The Oxford Free Press was named as a finalist in the Startup of the Year category. This category aims to honor an organization, having operated for less than three years, for establishing strong support for journalism in its community and the revenue growth that sustains it.
Alongside the Free Press, two other publications were named finalists, being Spotlight Delaware of Wilmington, Delaware, and Swampscott Tides of Swampscott, Massachusetts.
Seventy-six journalists and nonprofit news professionals from various media outlets were selected as finalists from a pool of almost 600 entries.
The awards ceremony will take place on Sept. 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Sazraec House in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Oxford Free Press has been a full member of INN since 2024.
