The Oxford Township Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting June 9 at Township Hall. The trustees reviewed and approved financial reports for the previous month and passed a resolution to transfer funds internally to pay a paving invoice.

Road Superintendent Johnny Smith reported that he has completed some pavement repairs and expects to make more at various locations. Mowing and brush cutting continues, including overhead brush trimming on Pamajera, Bonham and Buckley Roads. If necessary, Smith will cut back brush at intersections in areas normally maintained by Butler County to avoid sight distance issues caused by overgrowth. Recent heavy rains have created washout areas on Booth, Bonham and Todd Roads; he will repair these in the near future.

Police Chief Patrick Piccioni reported that in the month ending June 9, the Department received 301 calls for service, made 145 traffic stops resulting in 21 citations, responded to nine crashes, took 23 reports, made 10 arrests and responded to 14 calls for assistance to other area agencies. Firearm qualification had to be postponed in May and will occur later this month.

The most recent report from the Township's electric aggregation consultant was reviewed. During the past 10 months, participating Township residents who are served by Duke Energy have saved on average 13.7% ($129.28) compared to Duke's default generation rate. During the same 10 months, participating Township residents who are served by AES Ohio have saved on average 23.8% ($276.55) as compared to AES' default generation rate.

The Trustees agreed to solicit quotes to replace the roof on Township Hall. Additionally, the Trustees agreed to solicit quotes for housekeeping services at Township Hall.
