Oxford recently welcomed cyclists participating in Race Across America (RAAM), one of the world’s longest and most challenging races. The cyclists started in Oceanside, California, and raced 3,068 miles across the country to finish in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This year, the race started with 64 bikers and 44 completed the full cross-country race.

The cyclists were required to travel past 53 checkpoints. Oxford was checkpoint #41, located 2,382 miles from the start. The checkpoint along Locust Street was staffed by local cyclist group volunteers who cheered the riders as they sped past and welcomed the support teams with snacks and beverages.
