The Oxford Police Department also responded to underage intoxication and a reckless driver.

The Oxford Police Department (OPD) responded to various theft reports, including packages and stock investments, between April 13 and 20.

On April 13, just before 9 a.m., officers responded to a report of two unhoused people who had created a large mess of trash near 5073 College Corner Pike, according to the OPD media report. Officers made contact with the two behind Burger King, where they found litter everywhere, and both subjects were cited.

On April 13, just after 8:30 p.m., packages totaling almost $50 were reported stolen from the common area of Fox and Hounds Apartments, according to the OPD media report.

On April 14, just after noon, a female reported someone got control of her phone and online services and stole from her on April 2, according to the OPD media report. Stock from three investment accounts was stolen, and approximately $65,000 was transferred via wire from her accounts. She believes the suspect(s) gained access to her devices after she used public Wi-Fi in an unknown location or via malware installed, according to the incident report.

On April 14, just after 8 p.m., officers responded to reports of a theft in progress at Walmart, according to the OPD media report. An individual matching the description was found and arrested.

On April 15, just after 5 p.m., two roommates reported people who were staying with them took items as they left, according to the OPD media report.

On April 15, just after 9:30 p.m., an underage female was found to have an open container of alcohol inside her vehicle, according to the OPD media report.

On April 16, just before 5 p.m., a reckless driver was reported by a third-party caller, according to the OPD media report. The vehicle was observed driving within city limits before pulling into the Kroger Fuel Center. Officers suspected the driver to be intoxicated after speaking with him, and after conducting an investigation, confirmed he was under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, according to the incident report. 

On April 17, just after 1:30 a.m., a female was located lying on the front lawn of a house in the 200 block of South Campus Avenue, according to the OPD media report. She was found to be intoxicated and underage and had to be transported to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital by the Oxford Fire Department. Multiple alcohol-related summonses were issued, according to the incident report.

Also during the week, OPD responded to a report involving an unruly juvenile.
